Therapy for Young Adults

NYC & Virtual

Somewhere under all that noise is you.Let's see what we can find.

Adolescence and early adulthood have always been hard. Now, so much more lands at once. While everyone assures you these are the “best years of your life”, the thoughts are just getting louder in your head:

2:04 AM

Everyone else seems fine. I should have it figured out by now. It's not bad enough to ask for help. I don't even know what's wrong. Why can't I just do the thing? This isn't who I used to be.

If any of that sounded familiar, you're in the right place. That loop isn't a character flaw. It's a pattern, and patterns can be worked with.

What that noise might be

01

A loop you can't name

The same day on repeat, and no good answer when someone asks what's wrong.

02

A self that doesn't fit

The version of you everyone expects doesn't quite match the one in your head anymore.

03

A world that won't turn off

The feed, the group chat, the comparison. It follows you home, and so does the scorekeeping.

04

A gap that keeps growing

Between where you are and where you're supposed to be. However "supposed to" got decided.

What you'll get from therapy

This is one of the few places where the honest answer is also the useful one.

What you won't get here

Get off your phone.

Here's what your generation gets wrong.

Have you tried being more grateful?

What you will

What's actually going on for you?

That's the whole agenda: understand what's happening, and help you figure out what, if anything, you want to do about it.

For the parents

Are you the parent reading this?

Watching your kid struggle is its own weight, especially when everything you've tried hasn't moved anything.

The instinct to fix it is natural. It's also often the thing that gets in the way.

Not because you're doing it wrong. Because what helps most at this stage rarely looks like fixing.

What I can offer
01

Honest feedback

About what I'm seeing, in plain language.

02

A separate space

Where your kid can say the things they can't say at home.

03

A working relationship

With you: one that keeps you informed without undermining the trust I'm building with them.

Not sure whether therapy is the right step? Get in touch anyway. Sometimes a single conversation is enough to figure out what's actually needed.
